I LOVE estrogen! When it's in full swing, watchout I have the power, energy and drove to do anything! You'll never appreciate it until it's gone. A little too much and it's drama queen time for sure. Mid cycle when the estrogen kicks in is my favourite time to strength train. It seems effortless.

I think amongst the general female population it is a real fear. I've come across so many females both online and at the gym who *all* say the same thing - "I want to get toned but I don't want too much muscle".

Even when you try and explain to women this misconception, you have to constantly drill it into their heads because it's hard for them to let go of it. Even when I use myself as an example, it doesn't work at first. I lift as heavy as I can, my weights are on par with most men's, and I'm 5'2" 115lbs. Do I look good? Do you want to look like me? THEN PUT AWAY THOSE PINK DUMBELLS!!!

most women just have to lose weight to look good and as long as they do cardio andd moderate weights will be healthy. So many can lose weight without caring about musculature and still look fantastic guys have to selectively lose fat over muscle no mean feat no one likes a skinny guy people love skinny women espeicially with oestrogen keeping weight in the right places

Maxgain - not everyone lifts weights in order to look good to please the opposite sex. *I* for one, (and I'm sure Amkey is in the same boat) lift weights for performance/or job related reasons. And it is generally tough for us to gain strength and muscle at the same rate men do. But regardless, we all work hard here, and I don't think anyone is looking for excuses.

Just MHO, but those women who *are* really skinny with no musculature - they look ill. I don't find it sexy at all. They look like a bag of bones. In order for women to have a nice, sexy core underneath, they have to be willing to lift HEAVY. Lifting light or moderately ain't gonna do much.
