Question

Men's vs. Women's workouts

OK, the jist is that my fiance is getting curious about weight lifting (a bit) and I'd like to make a routine for her. I'm still in the process of convincing her that more muscle is a good thing and that she will never accidentally look like a female bodybuilder. I don't know why so many people think that just happens over night! Don't ask about her diet, thats a whole other battle. One step at a time.

I have a good idea of what I would make her routine look like, but that would be mainly cause I know what works for me, or guys in general. 3 day split with back/biceps, chest/shoulders/tris, and legs/abs. I'd like to start her in the 10-12 rep range, not to failure. Its going to be a gradual build to any kind of intensity, she's not the weights type (5'2" 100 pounds and I'd be impressed if she could bench the bar more than once).

I just want to make sure I'm not missing some key aspect of training for women. Assume that I know nothing, since that's pretty accurate. Anything in particular I should know?

The actual exercises should not be any different for men vs. women. The loads will change but other than that, its basically the same.

Click here to read what could be different though
