New routine, exhausting!
Well I'm starting to lift weights again, by following the body for life workout. It exhausted me today! I only did upper body. I'll be happy when I get stronger and can increase the weight. Oh well, gotta start somewhere, right

Soreness is not an indictaor of a great workout. I can bump my arm into something and it will be sore the next day, doesn't mean it was productive.

yes i understand that. i don't judge a good workout by how sore i am, just saying that when i am, i love it.

It does mean you damaged your arm and this is your bodys signal to rest it until it repairs exactly what you want from weight training where you manipulate it to damage muscle fibres.

It needs to be that "good" kind of sore! You know, the mild soreness that lets you know that you worked out the previous day. Not that *crippling* pain that I experience when I haven't done squats in a long time!

Haha..
well in my case I haven't lifted for 2 months, so it was pretty darn sore...maybe not the right kind of soreness right now? Anything I can do about it? It took me 3 days just to mostly recover from the upper body workout. I'm guessing it will get better the more I lift.

It will get better. Make sure you're eating right (i.e. protein) and getting proper rest. As I mentioned in my above post, if I haven't been lifting for a while and do a day of squats - I'll be feeling it 3-4 days afterwards. Makes staircases quite difficult!
