Pilates Reformer in replace of weight training?

I just started doing pilates Reformer workouts...Can this replace weight training since the moves are with resistance/weighted?

Many people use pilates in place of weights for their resistance training. Does it work as effectively at building a better looking, stronger body than progressively heavier weights? I don't think so, but many disagree with me. If you are doing it, then give it a try and see what it does for you.

In my view, the people you see month after month, and year after year in the gym who always look the same are wasting their time. This includes those in the gym lifting heavy weights doing an ineffective (for them) split. Try this pilates thing for 12 weeks and if you see a visible difference then you've found something that's working for you. If you don't see it...try something else. Honestly, anything that doesn't make visible changes to your body every 8-12 weeks is a waste of time and effort.

Pilates might build a toned muscular body, But it wont replace heavy iron and build big guns.
There is no replacing heavy resistance for big gains

Personally I wouldn't replace it I'd use it as a supplement to regular weight training.
