Unhappy

problem with my period

My period stopped. I think the reason was stress. I gained a few lbs bcoz of that. Then i quit my work and i try to eat less since i gained weight. Now i'm 5'2 weighing 47-48 kg. Is this a low? I've been weight training for more than a year now. And i think i'm seeing results. But the problem is my menstruation.

I was diagnosed with having polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) last yr. My body doesn't produce enough hormones to make me ovulate. Blood tests showed i'm normal.

The dr. suggested that i have to eat more, to have more fat in my body. PCOS are usually for obese or anorexic people. I know i'm not anorexic coz i eat and i eat sensibly(though i dont' know how much calories i'm eating/day) and i have a normal weight/BMI.

Have u guys encounter problems like this? Since u are into body building, then u must have at a few BF%

As for me, i'm not a hard core bodybuilder yet my period stopped

I'm afraid of not conceiving when i get married

your doctor told you you have PCOS and only told you to eat more without asking how your current diet is? A simple search on webmd.com brings up some info about it you can find here -> http://www.medifocus.com/guide_detai...olycysticovary

Here is my suggestion, write down everything your eating currently and get a second opinion from another Dr. This is not something to fool around with...

Kungfu has some great advice. Get a second opinion and study up on PCOS. Here is a quote from the website he referenced.
Quote:
First line management includes diet modification, weight loss and stress reduction since obesity and stress can contribute to androgen excess. Other management and treatment approaches are directed at addressing specific symptoms (i.e. acne, excess hair growth, menstrual problems, infertility) and at preventing long-term complications, given that PCOS can begin in adolescence or earlier.
Write down everything you eat (amounts and timing) for 4 days. Then calcuate the average caloric (p/c/f) of each day. This will be the only way to determine diet changes and if they work.

Most of all go see another doctor.

Thanks for the advice guys...so that means i'm the only one having problems with my period?

I'm having a hard time calculating how many % i ate. i'm not good in calculating. All i know is i eat lots of fruits and vegetables (so that's carbs) than protein and fat.

I eat about 8-10 tbsp of oatmeal/day

I think if i can calculate i eat 60%carbs,30%protein,10%fat
