Sore lower back

Hi everybody!

Today my back is aching terribly. I had to take painkillers... I didn't exercise my back yesterday, tho but legs and abs. Could any of those exercises cause soreness in lower back?

Glute
Rotary Torso
Ab crunch
adductor/abductor sel
Leg extension

Thx in advance

If your not doing those exercises properly, then it's possible to have soreness in your back. Are you stretching out enough before you work-out? That could be the problem.

I didn't strech (but I never do) before, still warmed up a little bit. This is the first time I feel that way after a leg training...

Thx

I'm not sure what all those exercises are, but I know what you mean about soreness in lower back. Seems like you gotta take it real slow to build strength in that area. The lying leg curls (hams) always seem to bother my lower back, but not as much as they used to.....

Actually, any of those, if done with incorrect form, could cause discomfort in the back. Have an instructor watch you do your reps to see if you are arching or bowing your back during an exercise. With crunches, for example, exhaused abs could cause you to bring your hips and lower back into play.

What is your rep scheme? It's better to get 8-10 solid reps, for example, then it is to go for 20 and lose your form halfway through.

ab exercises will definately do it. My back usually aches after my ab workouts. I am doing them correctly, I think it aches because my lower back is weak, and I need to work it out more.

weak lower back

I have lower back pain all the time and I lift weights. For me personally, I think my back pain comes from my life. Sitting at the computer for too many hours and having too soft a mattress seems to be the biggest culprits. Also, not exercising. Whenever I start to get pain in my back it can be fixed by exercising. Walking, streatching, jogging, and weight lifting. It seems my strain comes from a weakness somewhere, and exercise fixes it. It is an alarm that I am slacking somewhere in my workout.

Hope this helps.
