Starting full time job- timing issues.

Hi everyone,
I'll be starting a full time job soon. Right now I work out with weights 3x week and then do cardio 3 other days in the week. My trainer made me 2 different full body workouts in case I only have time for 2 weight lifting sessions per week. Ideally I'd like to keep up with the 6 day workout per week. Luckily I have access to a gym right next to my work place. I just want to ask people how they schedule their workouts? Time of day and how many per week?

I do mime before work. Many others do theirs after work. Some, which have more flexible schedules, do thiers during the middle of the day. Some do am and pm workouts on different days. The key is finding what works for you.

What Lady C said is right. We all have different schedules so you have to find out what works best for you. Personally, I like to always workout first thing in the morning before school and/or work. Sometimes I'll lift in the morning and save my cardio for after work/class. It all depends on your schedule. With a little bit of planning and a little bit of sacrifice, im sure you'll find a good schedule for yourself.

Definitely find your groove. I would love to workout in the morning but most of the time I am at work at 6am which makes it impossible to workout before hand. The nice part is I usually get off work at 2pm or 3pm so I hit the gym between 2:30-4 or 3:30-5pm. It's nice to get the workout done before the gym gets busy. do you have a flexiable work schedule? Maybe you can take a long lunch since the gym is right next to your workplace. When i worked the regular 9-5 I struggled to get into the gym a lot of the time because it would be crowded and I was worn out after a long day at work.

I go in the evening, about 8pm. I do not like working out in the morning, and I don't think I'd want to get up before work in time to hit the gym. Going at 8 gives me an hour to an hour and a half to digest dinner before going.

i have your same problem...i used to work out hardcore 3-4 times a week prior to getting a full time job - you def. just have to make time to fit it in (its hard at the beginning but you get used to it) - I go after work now (not really a morning person these days!!)

Yay! I found out the place I'll be working at this summer has a gym on site, with personal showers, so I can go in the mornings and shower there, bring a change of clothes and get to work on time! I'll probably do my cardio-only days after work, but we'll see. Anyways, I'm glad I'll be able to keep up with my work outs.

That is awesome! It sounds like it will be really convenient for you, which is always a big help.

Thats great JayKay! its good when a business provides that facility for their workers.

I currently work out usually around 11 or 12noon, but that is because i have no job lol. If i worked 9-5 i'd probably try to get into the gym before work, especially for the summer.
