Tell me what to do and I'll do it.

There are so many workouts on the net that it's overwhelming. My ex suggested this site so here I am.

I own a treadmill and weight system including low-weight dumbbells. I can run a 10 min mile w/out stopping. I have little upper body strength but I can do weight training if I am told how. I work from home so I have access to this stuff all day.

I have great control when it comes to my diet but deciding what to eat is a little overwhelming.

If someone out there can come up w/a reasonable diet plan and workout that will guarantee results I will do it...and keep you updated.
I could be a project of sorts for you, lol. I just need a little help from someone who knows what they're talking about and wont just give me vague details.

I'd like to be back in shape come summer time, and based on where I am presently, if I start working out now that is very reasonable.

I would appreciate this more than you know.

Hi, Krissi and welcome to DF. It really can be overwhelming with all the different advice and ideas out there, but you've come to the right place

It's hard to make a good nutrition plan for another person because everyone's individual needs are very different, not to mention food preferences, etc.

Can you tell us in detail what and when you're eating now? This will give us a place to start, and we can suggest changes to your current plan. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here who can help you.

For exercise, I would advise starting off with a 2 times a week full body weight training regimen. You can find a very comprehensive list of exercises on exrx.net. Choose one from each muscle group and stick to the ones labeled compound. This gives you the most results.

You can start with 20 minutes of cardio on non-weight training days and work up the time and intensity as you get more experienced and in better shape.

I hope this helps!

Go pick from this list. When you are comfortable with the idea of eating smaller, more frequent meals it will be a snap to find your own meals.

hi krissi and welcome! what are your specific goals? You say you want to get in shape, but do you have weight to lose, or do you just want to 'tone up'?

Either way you have come to a good place! I hope you find what you are looking for here.

How big are your dumbells exactly? Us ladies need to train with challenging weights just like the men do, so don't be afraid to push your limits.

good luck!
