Too Much?

Mondays -
Noon - Chest and Bicep/Tricep (45 minutes)
Night - Lower Body of Bodysculpt (think a lot of lunges and leg presses) and run for 20 minutes

Tuesdays -
Noon - Shoulders and Abs (40 minutes)
Night - Run for 30 minutes and do some situps

Wednesdays -
Noon - Back and Triceps/Biceps (45 minutes)
Night - Lower Body of Bodysculpt and run for 20 minutes

Thursdays -
Noon - Quads, Hamstrings, and Calves (45 minutes)
Night - Run for 30 minutes

Fridays -
Rest Day

Saturdays - Cardiosculpt (Cardio and Weights together) - 1 hour

Sundays - Pilates (1 hour)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Am I doing too much cardio? Will it negate the effects of the weight training?

Sounds like you might be doing too much in general! How are you finding this workout schedule?

I have heard from a lot of people that cardio+weights in the same day it not a good thing. Anyone want to help me out here?

Actually by the end of the week I'm ready to collapse. I love doing weights Monday through Thursday because it keeps me on track. I like Friday as a free day because...well just because it is Friday. But if I do cardio on non-weight days then I am only doing cardio twice a week.

Wow - two a day! I would be burned out by Wed. It looks like too much work to me. But the bigger question is - are you making progress?

Not really. Although I feel stronger my flab is still ever present. But I always thought that in order to lose fat you needed cardio?

You do need cardio to lose fat but don't weight train the same day that you do cardio. You need to give yourself time for rest. What's your diet like?

I eat about 1400-1450 calories on workout days with a 40/40/20 split. I eat 1300-1350 on non-workout days.

It sounds like your on the right track so don't go off and get discouraged. I'm sure you'll see results in no time. Hang in there!! I know how it can be tough. Have you considered running every other day?

Cinmin,

I didn't realize your doing The Firm at the end of the day! Why don't you say so in your journal girl? I think this is definitely too much and you're not giving your body any rest. It needs rest to repair itself from the stress of training. You won't see any results without it. You should eliminate doing The Firm workouts at the end of the day and stick to your current diet to see if you have any significant results.

OK, I think I will reserve my cardio for non-weight days which means only Saturday and Sunday. I'll try that this week and see how it goes. Now what do I do with the extra time when I go home??

Keep busy doing something so that you don't get bored and eat like crazy.

Good. How about making time for yourself and doing what you normally cannot do? Set some goals and try to accomplish them one day at a time.

My conscience is getting to me about missing cardio. I had a nightmare last night that I was on a treadmill being prodded by a red hot poker that was held by a cow! I need serious help.
