Triceps Pressdowns - Know the difference

Tricep pressdowns - know the difference

V-bar Pressdown
Do V-bar pressdowns if stress on your forearms and wrist is an issue. The natural fixed position of your hands is often more comfortable than the straight bar or rope.

Straight-bar Pressdown
Use a straight bar when you want to push maximum weight, either for gains in size and strength, or simply to shock your triceps with heavier resistance.

Rope Pressdown
Choose a rope attachment when you want to achieve maximum squeeze in your triceps. The versatility of the rope lets you turn your hands out at the bottom of the movement, shifting stress to your outer triceps.

Wow that helped so much! I always wondered what the difference was! I just recently switched from rope to bar.

Glad it helped, ladies. You know what I do at the end of my tri workouts that really pumps the blood through - bench dips. To make it harder, put your feet on another bench. I love these.

I like to through dips into my workout every few weeks! Yesterday I did dips with my feet on a ball and it was so much harder than with feet on floor, and even feet on another bench, just trying to keep that ball still!

I've tried the various types of bar pressdowns, but I was never really making a lot of progress....

My fave tricep exercises are close-grip bench press and dips. They also don't seem as hard on the elbows. :
