Weightlifting and height

This may sound stupid, but I'm afraid that if I start lifting weights and developing bigger muscles (which I have the genetic propensity for doing), I'll look shorter. I mean, I'm a chick whose 5'4". I can't really afford to look stumpy...any insight?

hmmmm I dont think that lifting weights will make you appear stumpy at all. if anything, muscle will aid in givng you a more lean and sculpted physique

I'm barely 5'3 and I don't think lifting weights has made me look shorter, like Atherjen said it's actually helped me look leaner and more defined.

Take it from the shrimp herself

I find that with more developed arms I look more proportioned. But everyone's body-type is different...I wouldn't worry to much about looking shorter. I think it's the opposite actually....people don't really notice your height because they're too busy starting at how buff you look.
