Weightlifting: How many different types in one workout?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if i'm doing chest/triceps one day, back/biceps another, and than shoulders, how many different machines/types with 3 sets at 12, 10, 8 reps (with weight increased as i lower my reps) should be done?

I usually do 4 different machines each for chest and than 4 for triceps (8 total) and samething for the others...except for shoulders i do about 4-5 different types.

Thanks so much!
Nikkie

Just a suggestion: try and go for the freeweights rather than the machines. You'll get much better results. :

What are the sets for each of those? Regardless, you are spending a little too much emphasis towards isolation exercises...

Good Catch Firehawk - I didn't see that. Yes, yes work those legs. A well rounded body looks much finer than a lop-sided one!

I tell ya, there is nothing more sexy than a nice set of defined, feminine legs let me tell ya lol...sorry its the hormones..

You will burn soooo many more calories if you incorporate squats into your workouts, and your overall strength will really increase along with it. Squats are a lifeline IMO.

I do legs on mondays, cardio day. So believe me those legs get a good workout. Usually 5 machines, lunges, deadlifts and squats. Thanks again guys.

You do deadlifts and squats on the same day? You should brag about that to the men... because we would never do that lol.
