women and thier lower body....

I read somewhere that women's lower bodies tend to be naturally pretty strong, and ( not that you shoudn't) but that you don't need to and that you gte suffocient muscle tone from running or elliptical machine? What do you guys think? Because my legs have been smaller before right now they are pretty hard but liek they at one point were at the bottom part 2 inches smaller and at in the upper inner thigh one inch smaller? Maybe I should just keep my cardio as my strecnght training for legs?

Hmmmmm. I understand the first phrase and the last sentence, but I get totally lost in the middle of your post......

Just keep lifting and doing the cardio. They compliment each other.

Cardio does not equal strength training. Not even close.

Today a lady at the gym, she runs marathons, told me I had great legs and to her looked like I was a runner (I most diffinitly am NOT). I'm a walker and swimmer.
However, I do train my legs - squats, lunges, presses, extensions, curls, kick backs.
Train everything but do so according to your build. I'm classic ectomorph. I'm long, thin - I have to work hard to put on muscle. Look at your body type and evaluate from there.

A woman that is pear shaped, I was told, should not neglect her bottom half but put more emphasis on her upper body.

It depends what you want. I want a great round and muscular butt and big muscular and lean legs. I workout my legs once a week and very hardcore and heavy. No, the elliptical is really not enough. Also working your lower body helps developp the upper body. I've been training for 1 year and 4 months to be exact and my butt is alot rounder, I have more size in my legs (calves are genetically huge), but it's really hard to developp the legs..

I'm a mesomoph..I'm lean but tend to have more fat in my upperbody. It's hard to loose the fat in my upperbody..

Cardio doesn't train for strength. I've found that you can get nice legs like you said from running etc. But if you train with weights you get nicer legs and can do more in your cardio, run faster, bike longer etc.
