5/04/06 (8-days till gameday)!!!!

1-week till "mid-atlantic strongman" had a hard week as usual, still feeling alittle sore from this nonsense

snatches (full squat snatches)
65 +3-overheads squats (speed)
75 +3-overhead squats (speed)
95 +3-overhead squats (speed)
115x1
125.5x1
142.5 miss
142.5x1 (powersnatch, flew overhead)
142.5x1

overhead squats, using 30gal drums as uprights, powerclean weight to barrel
160.5x1
175x1
186x1 (cool)
all paused

behind the neck jerks
190.5 powerclean to barrels
207x1 jerk (behind neck)
205 powerclean to barrels
229x1 jerk (behind neck) PR!!!
210.5 powerclean to barrels

back squat "deep knee bend"
236x3 speed
250.5x10 WHEW boy, that was tough, (not my best day really for squats), but really started losing form on 9-10 on the way up, actually did a "good morning" on rep 10. goal for the day was 250x10 (and I got it), I do have a plan to work up to a 20repper. (also had to squat the weight from the barrels to start, from bottom, above parallel around)

every rep was highbar, close stance full squat, first time ever doing "REAL" squats for higher reps with 250 (sure I've done 300x7-8 years ago, but those were garbage, to this session).

pretty happy about my routine weights on cleans and overheads "on a regular bar" my 2"thickbar powercleans have went down the toliet, going from powercleaning 200+ 2-3times a week to haveing to catch under 200 in the front squat, well it looks like I'm gonna have to rely on adreniline, and fear to get this lift, like always, I was hopeing to show some domination on the "axle" this time, but oh well, one more sunday for training, then a day next week (conditioning) and thats it, couples day rest.

Hi luke,

Thanks for giving us an update. It's been awhile since you have shared details about your training. Keep us posted on how your competition goes. Taper smart as you get close to event day, and fuel and hydrate your body. And, get a good night's sleep the night before.

Have a great weekend!
