I don't have any way to make or post video if I could make it. Sorry.

If you really want to see my puny little squat/bench/deads, I could rent one I guess.

Seriously, I would actually love to watch some of you guys who can pull/push some real weight on video. Dave puts up excellent numbers and isn't shy about posting video, it WOULD be great some of you guys who also put up good numbers would join him in the video thread. I suspect that if enough do, pretty soon the video thread will become a sticky or permanent part of the PL forum.

If people are afraid their form is gonan get criticized...all I can say is that on max attempts, form is not likely going to be perfect. Obviously if someone is doing something real bad, like squatting 3 inches high and saying they're parallel squatting, that's one observation to point out but otherwise, guys, this is just for fun, just to see what others are doing.

I think taking videos of yourself is CRUCIAL. Even if you have workout partners, how the hell do you know if they know what they're supposed to be looking for, or even if they're paying attention enough? You need to take videos to check yourself from time to time. It's very important. A mirror does not substitute for a video either. You cannot squat and watch yourself from a side view by looking ina mirror.

If I get my christmas wishes, you'll see my homemade videos of my big lifts in my very own squat rack. God I hope I can make one fit in my basement, the ceiling may be too low. I'm on a tight schedule when I'm in the gym during the week, so I don't have time to monkey around with a video camera.

Mav,

They do make power racks for basements. I have one in my basement, just had to make sure i got one 84 inches or shorter. Mine fits EXACTLY perfect. I think it's 82 1/2. If you get one online or whatever, usually they got the dimensions listed. I bought mine at new york barbells. VERY sturdy. I think most standard basements are 7 foot ceilings (84 inches)

500 pounds extraordinary?

Sorry to butt in. I didnt realize that 500 pound bench is rare, and only powerlifters do it. I've seen videos of people who have done more than that, wearing regular clothes, I'm pretty sure that they've never been powerlifters or that you would recognize their names. One guy I've seen do it is david tank abbott, from the ultimate fighting championships, you can download that video off kazaa, where he does 500 pounds wearing only his tshirt on. As far as I know, he has never even been to a powerlifting meet, and he must be in his mid to late 40's now.

Intersting that you don't think it's rare. How many other guys in the UFC can bench 500?

Abbot is a freak. He can upright row over 315 for reps and also militiarey rpess over 315.

Too bad he gasses out fast and just quits (done that on more than one occasion).

He's one example dude.

True, you dont' have to be a powerlifter. I'm sure there's plenty of strongmen out there than can do it. But in reality, yeah, it's quite rare.

Most powerlifters you probably would never see do a raw 500lb bench anyway because they all compete with equipment, and thus when they train they only work up to a comfortable rep raw then they start oging into board work or shirted work or what have you. Sure everyone trains different, but you get the idea .

Mendelson i think can raw bench 715. Gotta get Exmgq in here, he knows best.

He's also about 300 pounds, making that weight, though incredible, slightly less impressive.

David Abbott is 260 lbs, and a lot of that is fat

I just dont know why you guys have to jump on somebody who posted something, its not like you guys are gonna lose anything, just let it be. If hes lying, the only person he is lying to is himself. Its the internet for godsake.

Purepower, and for that matter Cooperman, you under no obligation to me or to anyone else to back up your claims. I'm not jaded , so I just say congrats on the PR Purepower.

Yea that is 600 pounds but the way he bounces that thing and uses the bend of the bar is a little cheating. He's still a ****ing beast. Does 150 pd db bicep curls.

And fireahawk, i do agree. He's a ****ty fighter that needs to work on endurance.
