another light, yet tough session.

Deep in my low-back was still sore some from the madness of farmers walk, um the deadlift from sunday, but am getting some pretty fast recovery here, this is from good training methods, not amino acids, and other products purchased over the counter!!!

started off with a new exercise that has me excited, "floor press" bottom-up, the weight is sitting on 5"blocks, and the press is started 4-5"above the chest, I'm using my new "tanden grip" bar, 30degree angle handles, 4-pairs

3rd time ever doing this

150x2 2nd grips (closegrip)
150x2 3rd grips (shoulder width)

175.5x3 2nd grips (PR by 1rep, 3.5lbs)
175.5x3 3rd grips (same PR)

190 miss 3rd grips (got it few inches)
rest, musta been those triples, that had my chest pumped?
190x1 2nd grips
190x1 3rd grips.......alright!!!!! PR's

moved to the thickbars, purchased a 2.5"solid steel dumbell handle, from the same dude who sold me the "tanden grip bar" it's like christmas when I meet with him, great high quaility eqipment, and good prices!!!!

2.5"dumbell (handle is at least 20lbs) added 81lbs to it, did pulls up to the midsection 2reps each arm, pretty hard I must say.

2"thickbar
shrugs 235x3, x2 I was not feelin this, my 2"thickbar holds are in a slump, I was thinking on what to do here, I need something differant to add, then I thought about "powercleans" with the 2.5"handle?.......okay, lets give it a go.

Bent over Rows (using tandon bar)
175.5x6 1st grips (extra close)

2.5"dumbell powercleans 61lbs loaded on 20lb handle x2 ea. arm (alternated)

BOR 175.5x6 4th grips (wide grip)

2.5"dumbell cleans 61lbs x2 (alternated)

BOR 175.5 1st grips (curl style)x3 4th gripsx3 (curl style) curl style is much harder.

2.5"dumbell cleans 61lbsx2 (alternated) x2-singles left, as I lost grip stitting it back on the floor on last rep.

I made sure to keep grip on the handle sitting it back on the floor, this was not too heavy, but still challenging, I think I'll train with this handle every 2-weeks, adding only 1-2lbs everytime, start with heavier clean pulls, then lower weight to do cleans, and up the reps, I'll use the 2"thickbar every 2-weeks also, and stick to 220-230ish cleanpulls, high pulls, ect.

the BOR's and cleans were done inbetween with 2min rests or so, not super-sets, but my shirt was soaked, afterwards, I was also just toying with the BOR's getting a feel of the new bar, I think instead of going much heavier, I'll just go a TAD heavier and add reps (stricter reps also) when I do them again in 2-weeks.

last..........
2-hand pinch, warm-up with the 50's
went for the weight I failed last week, 100lb plate plus extra, 1/4lb PR

x1 GOT IT!!!! 1st attempt, held for 2-3sec, now I'm really happy :

"It's solid crome with iridescent green powder-coat"

Hell of a workout, Luke! I was surprised to see bent-over rows in your routine... it's such a normal and mainstream exercise for you!

I've been doing floor presses myself, using the bands though. I try to mimick a reverse bench close grip position for the triceps, if you come over today I'll show you what I'm talking about.

Mike is coming over around 4:30-5:00 and we've got front squats and kettlebells on the agenda... I'd like to start filming on the "feats of strength" project too...

it's a "tandem" bar, thank you for the PM Dan and definition, but using that bar (which is not found in most gyms) is what lead me to the BOR's, the super-close grip, widegrip, and curlstyle, the feeling and variaty can't be matched on a striaght barbell, plus I've tipped the scales at 199lbs all this week, it's time to start adding some shape in here and there.

the 2.5"dumbell, (in a new york/reading PA accent)-
"it's soild chrome, with blue sparkle powder-coat"

I'll try and stop by, for alittle while today!!!
