I know this brother, theres raw feds. and equipment feds, some of the "young bucks" (not all) abuse the equipment, in my "eyes" it's the darker side of the game.
I wish they'd do away with everything except a belt and maybe knee/wrist wraps and let the strongest man win.

The first competition i do will likely be a raw one but it will be done in a fed that allows equipment. This is because i'm not willing yet to learn the equipment side of things. I will have no chance in hell of winning but that won't be the point of my first meet. I just want to do it just to do it and gain some experience.

candyass- I did those "bottom position" squats today I did 440x5 and they were alittle above parallel, (I'll have to get these vid. one day) now they were done on my "super-yoke" so if I were to duplicate it in the gym I'd be close to 500x1.

do they help me out of the hole? NO, they don't

do they give me strength? Yes, they do

they do give the strength to learn how to squat out of the hole, and proper "set-up" and they build explosive and starting strength in the hips, ass, and core, so I feel that since I'm not competeing in "powerlifting" anytime soon I'll stick to these for quite awhile and try to work even lower.

the important thing here is "strength" and this is and always has built strength....for me!!! I've also never hurt myself on them, as the form has to be perfect in order to even budge the weight.

Firhawk- yeah I hear you man, you got a good attitude about it (better than me prob.), it's just 2-differant worlds, have fun at your first comp. whenever it is man!!!
