Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

For about a month I had to workout at home. To make a long story short, I wasn't able to squat for a month (no power rack at home). 2 weeks ago I final got my ass in the gym and did some squats. They were horrible, but I expected as much.

I figured the next week's workout would be much better. Well, it wasn't. I just did squats (about 50 minutes ago) and they sucked co*k. It was one of the most horrible workouts I've had. I did box squats and manged to get stuck on the bench at 225! AT 2FU*CKING25!! Its times like these that make me want to be a body builder (then I picture myself on stage, oiled up, in a thong, with guys yelling at me to flex my legs; bodybuilding tends to loose its appeal after that ).

Training for strength can be so damn frustrating.

Yeah it can be frustrating. Drop back down to somethin you can handle easilly and work back up from there. Get your mind strong again.

I feel your pain. Two months ago I easily pushed 265, figured my max to be around 280. Fast forward six weeks and I'm barely pushing 240 for 3x3.

The squat is a very frustrating exercise, but don't go to the dark side.

That month off killed me. I maxed out at 415 right before I was forced to workout at home. I don't even want to know what my max would be right now.

Don't worry though, there is no danger of me becoming a bodybuilder: .

I'm sure everyone is disappointed. I'm thinking about oiling myself up, though.

In MY eyes the "darkside" is "geared" lifting, suits, shirts, wraps, and drugs, strength is something that can will make you feel like your on top of the world and give you a "high" forever, My stlye might be the oddside or darkside because no one trains that way, yet it's a way thats enabled me to not loose any strength or if I had to take sometime off, I wouldn't loose that much at all, once I outgrew the training for pump and looking like the "Hulk" and just focused on practice and learning about my body and what it's capable of, I managed to not back squat at all for months on end and smashed my old PR, go figure

All right, this is going from bad to worse. Its been 4 weeks since I started squating again, and I haven't seen a lot of improvement. I'm doing working sets in the 245 range for god's sake!!!! What the hell is going on with me? It's not like I didnt work my legs at all during that 5 week break (I did stiff leg deadlifts and barbell hack squats).

Im getting pretty pissed at myself; any advice you guys could give me would be really appreciated.

Powerlifting does not always mean equipment is used Luke.

But the equipment is used whether people like it or not. And if youw ant to win then unfortunately you have to use the equipment. It is definitely easy though to get a high being able to bench 200 more lbs or something than you can raw when you have a shirt on, or same when squatting.

I know this brother, theres raw feds. and equipment feds, some of the "young bucks" (not all) abuse the equipment, in my "eyes" it's the darker side of the game.

couple of things you could try are-
Heavy lockouts (back squat)
half-squats,quatersquats or full squats, all "starting from the bottom position"

just don't overtrain these, your body will always remember the strength thats built form these exercises!!!
bottom position squatting builds "starting strength" it's a differant type of strength thats builds up in the hips, ass, and legs, very close to "box squats" but still differant.

I learned about some of this stuff from this guy, www.BrooksKubick.com

edit, server could not be found  could a fluke I don't know.
