alternatives to pull-throughs?

any alternative movements you can do with free weights to mimic a cable pull-through, and assuming I don't have the equipment to do glute/ham raises, or hyperextensions?

here's an idea: make a "cable" station - tie one end of a rope to a weight, then run it over or through something stable, attach a handle to the other end or maybe get a pulley and screw it to a wooden frame, run the rope through, weight at one end, handle at the other.

yeah you can use a dumbell, thrust it back through your legs until your hamstrings stop it, then pull up hard just like ur doin with a cable.

Stand on a platform or a plate. Problem solved.

You don't need to. All you need to do is lengthen the ROM.

Pull throughs are a great exercise but its not going to make a bit of difference if you do a close variation to pull throughs or pull throughs themselves.

with pull-through, you have basically a 180-degree ROM - fully upright to torso on quads. you don't come anywhere close to that with any form of deadlift.
