what part of the body do bent-over-rows w/ dumbells work. and how far bent over do you have to be to do this?
Bent over rows work the whole back, especially the lats and also the biceps. I dare say your abs are working, too, to keep your body stabilized. There is some debate about how far to bend over, but I say, the upper body should be parallel to the floor. That's how I learned.

Absolutely. Looking forward to the experience.

Last night, I weighed 192.5. Began cutting weight in earnest this morning. Strict low carb, lower than usual calorie (~1800) diet. 30 minutes on the treadmill this morning. I have decided to hold off on lifting until the competition as my decreased caloric intake will most likely hinder recovery efforts and I want to be a fresh as I can be for the competition.

I suspect that making weight will not be that much of a challenge, but one never knows. For the Arnold Pump and Run, I cut too much weight (Having to travel to Columbus, Ohio by plane, I didn't have a scale readily accessible - I made my weight by almost 4 pounds) and it hurt my performance on the bench. This time I will have a scale and be sure to just make weight by the smallest fraction possible.

Unfortunately, I had to purchase a new weight belt for the competition (my old belt was not USAPL approved for competition) and I have not lifted in it. I doubt that it will affect my numbers, but not a good idea to have to break in new equipment either.

This Pump and Run...is it only in one area? Or can I try to find one around my area, locally? This is something I would love to enter

The Arnold is the biggest one of the year and takes place the first weekend in March in Columbus, Ohio. I know that there are pump and runs (also known as lift and runs) in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Oregon. Google "pump and run" and you will find plenty of races. Hopefully there will be one you can compete in. Also, you should check with any local 5K races to see if they have a pump portion of the race.

185 last night. 30 minutes of cardio this morning. Post-workout weight: 181. Now I just have to eat sensibly today and making weight tomorrow morning will be no problem.
