Pretty cool. I tried setting my feet up like that to give myself a better arch w/ a slightly wider grip and nailed 220 x 6 pretty easily.

I love this board because whenever I have a big max attempt or something coming up I can sit back and read what the actually strong people have to say.

I've gotta get my strength base built first before i start that stuff, but I'm so looking forward to it. Don't know anything about equipment yet...
I don't use a shirt anymore I did in the past. I hate them I could never get used to them. I lose my feel in them.
I used one to get to 400Lbs then I felt it was holding me back more then help.

Jaster, do you feel that useing the shirt early contributed to the shoulder problems you had earlier? I know benching too much will, but do you think the shirt really even protected your shoulders in training? just curious.

Firehawk, how old is Clay?

Yes I think the floor press is why I have such a big bench now that I think of it.
When I first started lifting I didn't have a bench and I would do "Bench" press on the floor. I did this with DBs. I tottaly forgot the good old dirt cheap days LOL But I think that may be why when I got into a real gym I just picked up mad weight and went to town.

I'm not sure. I know I did think I was superman with the shirt LOL
So Yeah maybe it did.
As you can see I don't think much about it I just do it. That may have something to do with the numbers I put up. Just something to think about.

The shirts are tough to get used to so i hear. They're a whole different way of training really. I thought shirts protected the shoulders... Obviously you can't be stupid about it, you have to learn how to use them. If you miss that groove and dump the weight down or back on your chest, I'd suppose that could cause shoulder trouble since you're leaving them out to dry in those cases eh? hehe

I've been staying after almost every time i go to the gym, for like 1-2 hours, to help out and watch, and learn how the big boys do things. I mean, even guys with 600+ benches are getting their form critiqued. That's why it pays to train with people that know what to look for, otherwise you might as well train by yourself.

Jaster I think there's 2, MAYBE 3 guys with raw 500 benches at my gym. So impressive dude. Clay's raw bench is about 675 or right around there...

They say if you know how to use shirts you can get 200 out of it at least. Clay was telling me there's a couple out there that claim to get 300-400 out of their bench shirts. I forget the names he mentioned though. At that point it's all about technique and tricep strength...

Luke, Clay's about 30-32 yrs old. He's from my hometown and went to my high school. They need to put up a plaque or something over there heheh.
