Bench shirt routine?

Just wondering what some of you do on shirt day. I'm going to try to work in my shirt once a week, if my body can handle it. I plan to work on boards and change it up from week to week with full range. I can't seem to find much info about shirted routines any suggestions would be great.

Most of the guys at my gym don't train in their shirt until they are within 6 weeks of a competition. It is definitely not a weekly thing week in and week out. 90% of the training should be training raw off boards straight up or with bands/chains. 10% is the equipment side. Just an FYI from what I see at my gym.

I'm with Dave...........work on raw strength up until about 2 months before your meet. That will give you plenty of time to dial in your shirt.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with throwing it on once in a while just to stay familiar with the feel.

As for a routine, all I've ever done is work up to heavy singles or triples, but I haven't done that many meets..........i'm sure my training will change as I progress.
