Climbing the rope

I just started playing around with hands-only rope climbing at my gym that has a short 12 foot rope to the ceiling. What a grip strength workout!

Here's my latest attempt at the end of last Monday's workout:

My old gym had a 20 foot rope I used to climb hands only. I could only do a couple ascents before my hands and forearms were totally fried. Awesome and fun workout.

Great work! It looks like going down is way harder than going up. I love all the Pull-ups/climbing/rope work that you do.

I have one of THESE on the way so hopefully I will be joining in on the weighted pull up madness soon.

I'm relatively new to hands-only rope climbing. I agree that lowering will double the workout. That's next but hands-only from the L-sit position starting from a seated position is tough - for me. I'm not a forearm monster person, nor do I have phenomenal grip strength so I'm pleased that I was able to do this.

But stay tuned because the best is yet to come.
