Corte's 3x3 & Poliquin's 1-6...
Alright big people... Who tried any of these...? I'm looking to do something completely different for my next strength cycle and although I probably won't get to either in a minute, I might as well learn something about them right now...
For those not in the know, the 3x3 is biphasic (4 weeks high volume / 4 weeks max strength) and the 1-6 bases itself on post-tetanic facilitation... All new, fancy-sounding stuff to me, which just gets me all tingly and excited...
So... Who's been there...?

Done the 3 x 3. Works great for some - for me it was way too boring and I lost interest halfway into the routine.
Not a scientific response... but honest.

Alright... I think I can handle boring; GVT isn't exactly brimming with creative freedom...
Anyone else...? FH, Bearbait, F-Mac...?

Poliquins 1-6 is pretty rough. I toned my hybrid down to 3-6. The tetanus training schemes are pretty debatable since the only known way to get the results is by actually shocking someone (contract all able fibers in muscle at work).

Yea, I figure a fairly highly level of experience/MU recruitment is mandatory for it to even be plausible... I have had a little experience with supramaximal holds tho, which did seem to have some merit...
So, what kind of results did you experience...? Even if it was a hybrid, I'll take any first-hand knowledge on this, as it seems hard to find anyone who've actually seen either program through...

I did well. It was my first max strength type program. I didn't gain any solid weight, but I did increase my pullup and bench press strength substantially. This could also be because it was my first time away from 3x12 everything system.

Not picking on you, but it WAS because you stopped doing 3 x 12. Not PROBABLY because...

Lol... I'm a dick in real life. I see no reason to be any different online. FYI, I don't try to start conflict... but I find no reason to powder coat everything and blow sunshine up everyones skirts. With the guy's you train with though, you already know this .
If you're ever going to become a great athlete you're going to have to take brutal honesty.

Ah yes, the 3x12 everything... I remember working 5-6 days a week alternating chest/triceps and back/biceps... Think my total weekly volume per muscle group was like 400 reps... Simpler times...
I've added an alternative in WestsideFSB... It leans more towards athleticism rather than raw powerlifting strength, but I really like the look of the program... That, and DeFranco's client list is just fukkin impressive...
Now, although none of you are (or were) skinny bastards, do you have any experience with the program...?

I don't have any experience with those programs. I'm really bad from jumping from one program to another. I have to get myself on a program and stick with it. Sorry I couldn't help.
