Deadlift workout question

What is good set/rep/weight progression for deadlift workouts?
I recently got back in to doing them and started doing pyramids sets 12 reps/10/8/6/3. I would like to have more left in me at the lower reps to up the poundage.

Most people don't usually train deadlifts with higher reps/volume. I did a 4,4,2,2 program and that worked great for awhile, now I'm working on variations of the DL and using a 2x5 scheme.

Especially if you're a powerlifter, most don't train those high reps. According to powerlifters GCS and me talk to alot, every now and then they'll do 1 work set of 10-15 but they won't do any more work sets than that. Typically they train lower reps.

For my workout yesterday I dropped the reps down to no more than 5,added a couple sets and raised the weight. Today I feel like a truck ran into the back of me,in a good way.

Yeah the day after my heavy deadlifts, I was trying to crouch down on top of my friend to give her a back massage and my hamstring got such a terrible cramp lol. Painful.

Yes ,I thought the set count was high too. Was trying to get a feel for what kind of workload/weights I could handle doing more lower volume training. I will probably drop it down to 3-4 sets for the next workout.

What's your goal? Is it strength, strength/mass, mass, or fat loss? Or something else?:
