Detroit Barbell Open AAPF

Hey guys,

I will be competing tomorrow in my 3rd meet. It'll be raw dog for me. I will post a video of it.

Weighed in at 272.3 this morning. Didn't do a whole lot to cut down. Just drank my water all week and watched the carbs, then cut everything off at around 4pm yesterday. All day today it's pasta and pizza. No sweets. Yum!

My openers will be:

325 squat
245 bench
445 deadlift
Raw meet for me. This is my last raw meet and i want to total 1100.

Hi Firehawk,

Watch some videos tonight to fire you up. Tomorrow, attack the weights and explode!

That's a good idea about the videos, thanks all. I'm carbing up all day, it's fun! Not eating any sweets like i did the last coupel tiems which made me feel real sluggish. I've pounded the pasta down all day thus far and don't feel bad...probably somewheres around 500g carbs taken in i'd guess.

I would not agree with that you dont want anything getting the adrenaline flowing tonight you want to be able to sleep and plenty of it . Watch them tomorrow before you leave to put you in the mindset.

Also good advice lol.

The first meet i did, I was real excited about 2 weeks away from the meet. This time i'm not hyped up yet. Going to bed now. I will be ready to go in the morning for sure. I will post what I did tomorrow night.

Thanks all.

Well, I had the worst meet that i've had to go through thus far. But, it was good to go through something like this, and still get a total lol. I went 4 for 9 on the lifts, my best being deads of course, but even then i messed up.

Squats
1. 325 smoked it
2. 355 miss
3. 355 miss
After watching tape, it appeared I was leaning way forward I was not feeling at all, very nervous from the start of warming up. It sucked. I was hoping for a 400 squat today.

Bench
1. 245 easy
2. 255 got half way and died, i guess i was elbows out from the start of the lift. Bad deal there.
3. 255 miss
The press calls were LONNNNNG today. My God. I coulda ate a burger before i got the press call...a good 2 second pause at least.

Deadlifts
1. 445 miss, i fell forward and bounced the weight at the bottom, still completed the lift easily but no lift. was mad at myself.

2. 445 easy

3. 475 yeah baby. 20lb meet PR. Went up fairly easy I suppose.

Total was 1045, 15 under my best meet total. Not too happy about it but waht can I do? It was good i went through adversity in this meet. I hadn't had to battle before through the frustration in the previous 2 i've done.

Will have video clips soon.
