Weighted dips are great! But watch you shoulders - they can rip out easy enough.....and that is no fun at all.

Do you work full body or a split? What else did you do for you chest, delts, and tri's on that workout?

That's for sure, one of the worst exercises for your shoulders. In my opinion, they should be removed from your routine as you can accomplish gains doing something else.

I do agree with Iron man, i do not go all the way down with dips, just a 90 degree angle

Honestly, doing dips with two 45 lb plates isnt really all that impressive, however 3 or 4 is. I want to see some of these 400 lb presses or whatever it is you talk about.

For a kid who weighs 139lbs and dips 2 45s i think is quite impressive, especially when i can do it more than once.

Nah im more like an upside down bowling pin lol. Squats arent good for my knees or back, im gonna start doing deadlifts for my legs.

Anyways i have a question for the admins moderators etc.. Do dips work the back out as well? Cause i do feel it in my traps and rhomboids.

Yes they will work a few back muscles, but like others have said be careful doing heavy weighted dips. Personally I would try to stay in the 6-8 rep range for weighted dips. That's impressive that you can dip 2-45lb plates for 3 reps at 139lbs, but I think you might see better results lowering the weight and increasing reps. Plus this will reduce your chance for injury. Just my opinion though.
