Hey Luke, very interesting thanks for sharing. One of my goals is to really work on my snatch, maybe I should add more high-pulls into my routine, and obviously more overhead squats. I struggle the most with receiving, pulling the weight isn't as much of a problem as landing/locking out and keeping the weight overhead! My gym won't let me drop the weights so I'm nervous to really try to max out incase I can't get the load securely overhead.
In my warm-ups I've been encorporating some snatch balance practice, and hopefully that will help a bit.[/QUOTE]
then overhead squats are the answer, you can use the powerrack on them so you don't drop it, set the pins at the level where the bar will just touch the pins while your in the hole.
I havn't a clue if "high pulls" or even powersnatches are good for mastering a full "
squat snatch" it's really a differant tech. but I like trying to powersnatch with as little dip as possible, and I like pulling the bar high.
it's just fun!!!
