Heavy weight, tore something i think

I was at school during weightlifting and i was maxing out, trying 405 and i got it up one time, i tried the second time and i had a crappyspot and it came down on my left arm hard, Now my left tricep hurts but only when i push on this certain spot it sends a pain from my tricep to my forearm, anyone have any ideas on what it is? I worked out light today to try to exercise it but it still hurt working it out.

Sounds like a strain. Lay off the weights for a week or two until it heals. You could always concentrate on legs for awhile.

Eat enough and you probably won't lose any muscle in 2 weeks time...might drop a tad of strength but i doubt it if you're eating enough.

I agree that you shouldn't lose much in two weeks. What if you hurt it more and have to lay off for 6 months? You'll surely lose a lot less mass and strength by resting for 2 weeks.

Yeah, but ive been doing light weight and its feeling actually alot better. But i have another question, do Chest Flies build the chest at all? Everyone tells me that it tones it out but then others tell me its probly the best exercise for the chest and it builds it pretty well.

There really isn't a difference between "toning" and "building" Toning is just building muscle and reducing fat. Building muscle, is, well, building muscle. So it doesn't make sense to me to say that one exercise is for "toning" while another is for "building"

That being said flies are an isolation exercise, and therefore, not optimal for building muscle. You can throw in flies as long as you're not replacing important exercises like bench and dips and as long as they don't make your total routine too much for your body to recover from.

Hope that made sense!
