The yoke just looked very hard. It must have been - hence my referral to "...pukes". The hammer stuff looked dangerous. Definitely some real confidence in one's ability to do that kind of stuff.

I watch the strongman comps on espn, but they don't show the hammer stuff. It all looks like it'd be hard on the back though. Impressive to watch. The best I ever got on any of that kind of thing was farmers walk with some 75lb dumbells. People with real functional strength are pretty impressive to me. So is powerlifting and a well defined BB physique though. I just admire accomplishment - whatever form it takes.

Levering hammers is mostly hand & wrist strength. You won't see that in your traditional strongman comps but in grip competitions, which is kinda like a speciality division of strongman.

Here's an example of both the work and play that goes into our training. Some of the keg stuff was shot just for you Welch

Cool stuff. Mommy is quite a bit smaller than the rest of you - she still did a decent toss. You going to get her trained up for strong woman stuff?

Awesome squats BTW, how heavy was that?

I don't think she's into it like that, just wanted to see what her boyfriend does when he comes down. My wife, on the other hand, is considering doing next years Global Grip Challenge. She played sports most of her life and watching the girls this year kinda stirred her competitive side.

The squats were 225, 315 & 315.

Ditto. I lost count but was that 20x225? And then 3x315? Nice lifts.

I had planned to do 20, but I lost count and did one more for good measure. 225x21, 315x2 & 315x3. I haven't done 20 reps squats for a couple years.

I'm pretty sore today.

Damn and I was all impressed with myself today for carrying 25's around inside my gym with my fingertips.

I can see it now, next halloween instead of candy, ya'll will be passing out bunny rabbits and sh*t made from bent steel - like the balloon guy, just not with balloons.
