Those GHR's are correct, only thing is they need to move that foot holder forward a little bit and then move it up. Moving it up will make them much harder, moving them forward will too because your knees will be on the pad rather than below them.

The way you got em set up there looks good, first time trying them you should do them the "easier" way, although there's nothing easy about GHR's. NICE JOB.

You kept your back arched the entire time, which was good.

Actually, threenorns, if you think about it, what is the most difficult part in a GHR?... when you're "locking out", when your torso is parallel with the ground, when you're working directly against gravity. If you raise the legs, you cut your range of motion so that you're practically doing a backbend before your torso even reaches parallel.
If you raise the legs you aren't cutting paralell, you're going past parallel with the floor making it even tougher. Also the foot rests being moved closer to the padding will put her knees on top of the pad making it much harder. picture a _ but the front end of it dipped further down past parallel. That's harder than parallel.

Id agreew ith you though about cutting the range if they dont' move the foot rest closer as well.

yah - they're GHRs.

the video's in DivX avi format - my sister's camera only does MOV, which is a hellacious large file and i haven't got all my utilities loaded into this computer yet to convert to regular, nice, normal MPG. you can either view it in windows media player by downloading the DivX codec, or you can download the DivX player from http://www.divx.com/ .

oooooooooo, I see! I've never done them like that, with a knee bend. This is what I had in mind.

Anyway, what did you think of the video?

Luke overhead squatted 145, pulled 405(?) and bottoms-up squatted 405. My overhead squat was 155x5, deadlift 495 & 500 (first time pulling from the floor all year) and snatch 110. There was a lot more that didn't make it to video, those were just some of the highlights.

Thanks for posting brother.

I like how you guys train. You can see the intensity in everything you guys are doing. I also liked the attempts you put in there trying to squat the weight off the pins. I forgot the technical term for it.

Rip that deadlift weight off the floor bro!

I was under the impression a hyper ext. locked your feet on to the floor - legs at about 45 degees, whereas the GHR your legs were parallel to the floor.

That knee-bend is similar to an exercise called "crazies" where you kneel on the seat of the lat-pull down, and facing away from the weight stack, you hook your ankle under the knee pad. Lower yourself down and I swear it feels like your hams are gonna tear (might actually happen if you don't ease into it slowly).

A 45° Hyperextension is where you lock your legs at the floor and can wrap a band or whatever around your neck, or hold weights at your chest, so yah you're correct.

A knee-bend sounds very similar to a GHR except the GHR is done on a Roman Chair...
