Maxing next week

Well I am going to max on all my lifts next week, but my question is, would it be better to take it easy over the weekend, and start maxing on monday, or should I keep my body use to activity over the weekend so it doesn't like ...shut down. Suggestions?

I wounldn't do any lifting, it's been my experiance that after week off of heavy liftin before a contest, I'm stronger and weights that seem heavy on training days are cake, just be smart with the warm-ups, I wouldn't rep out anything over 4-5reps on the light stuff, then only do 1rep as you get heavier.

Take the weekend off to prepare it for the taxing event it is about to be subjected to. Eat well and often so you have lots of energy. Skip the liquor and beer if you want to be super fresh when you hit the weights for the max session.

Lol...indeed. Though...it's a good thing I don't, being in the lifting world and everything it is beneficial to not do so. :P
