My new gym

I still belong to my old gym but I've also joined this eclectic gym which is 5 blocks from my home because it has rubber plates and platforms to drop for the Oly lifts.

I haven't done any of this odd-ball stuff which looks like fun, but I did grab a clubbell to check it out and it sure feels alot heavier than it looks.

You joined Bodytribe?
I've been getting newsletter from their head honcho, Chip Conrad for a few years now. The dude is smart, eloquent and appears to train like a beast.

I'm jealous. Let me know how it goes!

Have fun,
Cliff

I wouldnt either, if you guys didnt get the implication.....

To me its just not practical to pay a membership and have absolutely no tools, but a truck tire, kettlebells, empty kegs, and rolling pins. oh yea and a persian rug to do pushups on... I already have that stuff, alls I need to do is buy the kettle bells and a house w/garage to put it all in.

No offense P... To me its not practical, in this time of financial despair.

The video doesn't show it all.

There are multiple squat racks, multiple Olympic lift platforms with all the rubber plates necessary for a comprehensive clean & jerk or snatch workout. There is an awesome assortment of kettlebells and clubbells although I do not use them. There is a decent set of dumbells. There are a couple of benches for the bench press. There is a GHD unit, boxes for box jumps, jump ropes, power jump ropes, rings, heavy duty bands, etc., etc.

This is not your typical commercial gym in that there are no treadmills or other cardio equipment but it has all the stuff to give you a good workout if you are willing to do the work.

And the people are good, a little younger and off the beaten path but they know how to respect their elders like me. And I can walk there from home.

I'll still maintain my other gym membership as it is close to my office and part of my morning ritual of getting to the gym early to workout, and S/S/S. This newer gym has younger-people hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is designed for the younger person who stays up late in the night, wakes up around 10:00 a.m. and gets a workout before reporting to Chipotle's for their part-time job.

Well as westside puts it is what i meant, It seem to be a gym with heavy rubbish.
why pay for that, just go to the locan car crushers and offer to work free of charge.
Your save money and get the same workout

Seems like a cool gym to me. Lots of the exercises you could do with all that equipment would be much more difficult than most conventional wieghtlifting exercises.

I actually like that that gym is not for everyone. Some people like chrome and fern, some people like iron and chalk.
