need some squat advice

My squat has been stuck at 350 for about a month now. I feel like I've hit a wall. At 136lb a 350 squat is ok, but I want to keep improving. I thought about adding jump squats to help with my power. Feel free to give me your opinion on the whole issue.

The bottom of my lift is the problem area.

Saying you don't squat "in" and not "on" a box leads me to believe you don't know what grambo is referring to. Do you know what a "box squat" is?

Just for my own edification, are you doing a powerlifting squat or an ass to the grass olympic style squat?

I like your idea of jump squats. Isn't the idea of dynamic type exercises to increase recruitment of fast twitch fibers? Makes sense to work them into your routine.

Yeah I do. As to what kind of squat I do, I tend to do a wide stance powerlifting squat.

I'd say incoporate box squats. They brake the eccentric/concentric chain, which is a good way to build that power out of the bottom.

If you refuse to do box squats, try pause squats. Give yourself a nice 2-3 second stop at the bottom, and explode out of the bottom. Do them as assistance work after your main squat work.

Better yet, box squat, and then do pause squats(on the box or off).

These things will benefit you more, especially the box squat if your form is a little off. If you are confident in your squat form, it could simple be an issue of your assistance work.

----------------------------------------------------------

What is your current squat routine?

Box Squats are awsome, period. Right now i am wrestling so i encorporate them only when i have time but they above anything else raised my squat. I do really low box squats so that i never have problems coming out of the hole. Also, it has pretty much made my ass to grass squat and parallel squat the same.

How do box squats help so much? Touch, then explode up? Can't you do this without a box, go down low, then just explode up? I don't get it :/

It has something to do with breaking the tension on your muscles when you sit on the box squat then push off, as opposed to pausing at the bottom.. Close but not exactly the same.
