Pointless Gripe

I decided to do a very simple workout last night, 100 reps of double 32kg KB clean and push presses. I turned into lots of sets of 3 reps with short rest in between. I got to 75 reps before I tore a callous wide open, had to cut the rest off. Quite uncomfortable.

Anyone else feel like griping about something related to their pursuit of strength/fitness/whatever?

... why yes, as the matter of fact I do

I would like to whinge about CrossFit ... every time I think I am getting a bit fitter and somewhat 'good' at CrossFitting a new workout comes along that reduces me to a pool of goo.

Just when I can start getting sets of 21-15-9 pullups unbroken; walking around with my head held high and feeling like I just might make a passable CrossFitter some time soon - the goal posts shift.

I picture coach's thought process going something like this;
'So you can do pullups now eh? Good for you! how about half bodyweight High Pulls and Push Presses ... shall we say 60 reps of each? ... welcome back to the suck!'

Why can't CrossFit just work on the things I'm good at? Why does there always have to be a new WOD around the corner just waiting to beat me down!!

... I guess because if it did it wouldn't be CrossFit any more and I wouldn't be interested

wow you guys... just be glad you can do that much work...

My gripe! is that I havent worked out in about 7 weeks now, and everytime I make an attempt at one set... I CANNOT BREATHE!

I know ive posted it throughout this forum repeatedly, but sh!t man, I just wanna cry. Am I the only known person in this world who has this chronic breathing problem? I know a few of you said its good to breathe into the gut... But I feel extremely winded and about to passout from lack of oxygen/ and heartattack (not real one, just saying thats what it feels like)

I wasnt in this bad of shape when I was a walking skeleton!

Theres my complaint... no air = lack of motivation to get fit.

anyone ever get there tonsils/adenoids removed?

I had my adenoids removed when I was little, but I don't remember much about it.

Do you feel like you have any type of breathing/allergy/sinus/sleeping problems?
Im guessing, even though its a common procedure, prolly something like one in a dozen people have it done... and its typical to have it done ive learned when youre a kid, because of the size of them, the surgery is ibviously much easier. a ENT Specialist will usually deny you such a surgery at an age such as mine or older, unless its absolutely necessary... although my alergy/sinus nite time sleeping and breathing conditions are horrible, I doubt they would tell me I need to have it done, primarily because of my age, they would consider it more an inconvenience to myself.

which sucks! I would love to have them removed, anything is worth a try...

Anyone else have any gripes? I dont wanna be the only Whinner!

The main reason they removed mine was because I kept getting ear infections. I also had (ear) tubes put in at the same time. I had to have tubes a second time, so I guess the adenoid surgery didn't work too well!

I also had asthma when I was little, which I grew out of, but it came back. So I still have occasional breathing problems from that, but it's pretty well under control since I started on Advair.

pseudonym I totally hear you!!

I think, hmmm I am getting pretty good at kipping pullups. Then they come along and say you should be touching chest to the bar.

I still cannot do a handstand pushup or even close to it

AND I think my struggle with strict pullups will never end! when I don't practice them all the time, I go back to only being able to do 1 or 2!

grrrr!!!

(end of gripe.. for now)

maverick, i find it SO annoying when callouses/sore hands get in the way of my workout. I feel if I weren't limited by this I would be much faster/more efficient at pullups.

And when bits of skin actually peel off the hand, it gets very sore afterward for days.

Grrrr, again!

however, I am glad that I can work out at all...
