Power clean and muscle

i know that doing the power clean and jerk and stuff give you some power after some time...

but does doing these exercises increase muscle mass at all or does it only help you move heavy weights faster?

of course powercleans increase muscle mass, any olyimpic lifter over 200lbs is pretty big and built, most of them if it were the 40's-60's could step on a bodybuilding stage.

of course though if you wanted to get huge you couldn't do that powercleaning only 200lbs (200lbs will put mass on though), look at guys like Ken Patera, I've seen pics of him and he didn't get that way doing only squats, he powcleaned over 400lbs squat cleaned 500lbs, most ol. lifters don't even deadlift, some of the old-school guys didn't squat much eithier, they just did the lifts (SOME, NOT ALL).

I bet ya the bigger your powerclean is the bigger your BOR,curls and ect. can be, it can also improve the deadlift, depending on were one stands in thier deadlift.

If you do try it, use just the bar at first. The movement is pretty complex, and requires you to explode with your legs then use the momentum to force the bar up to your shoulders.

They're fantastic.

Add the 'press' part of the movement and you have a very good muscle builder. I am going to start doing Clean & Presses as soon as we get an Olympic bar at the gym.

Olympic bar? How is that different from a normal bar?

Normal bar is 25 pounds, smaller girth and shorter.

An Olympic bar is longer, thicker, weighs 45 pounds, and has wider end attachments that hold the plate. They also are more stable under a lot more weight.
