Powerlifting Competition Results version 2

Participated in my second powerlifting competition this past weekend (the link to my previous contest results is here: http://www.discussfitness.com/forums...lts-36374.html.) Competed at 181, raw division (weighed in at 180.8 - belt only, no wraps, no equipment). Here are my results:

Squat
Open: 300 (good)
Second: 325 (good)
Third: 350 (no good)
- given my failure in my last competition to get low enough at 355, I went well below parallel at 350 but I just couldn't finish the lift. A little disappointed as I have consistently made 345 in training, but 325 is still a 10 lbs PR in competition.

Bench:
Open: 265 (good)
Second: 285 (good)
Third: 300 (no good)
- My failure to train over August and September caught up with me on bench. 15 lbs less than in my April competition. Bummer.

Deadlift:
Open: 375 (good)
Second: 400 (good)
Third: 425 (good)
- Based on the way I pulled the 425, I think I could have hit 450. Pleased with my effort and the fact that this too was a 10 lbs competition PR.

Total: 1035 lbs (5 lbs competition PR). With proper training and eating clean, I hope to get at least 1100 total next year in competition (350 or better on squat, 300 or better on bench and 450 or better on deadlift). Unsure whether to cut to 165 or stay at 181.

This was probably the last of the myriad competitions I will undertake this year (i.e. two pump and runs, two powerlifting competitions, one STREND, one Urbanathlon). Nothing scheduled until the Arnold Pump and Run next March 2. The next challenge will be to eat clean, put on some muscle, cut body fat and enjoy the holidays.

Thanks for the detailed blow-by-blow of your performance. I enjoyed reading it.

You are very skilled at making weight, arent' you?

Looking forward to your next report. Have a great day!

those are some very impressive lifts NickerNine. If you are able to maintain/increase your strength while cutting to 165 I will be very impressed.

Good luck!
