There was a time when I was doing them 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, until I knocked some sense into myself.

Yeah, with that back, you probably knocked the sense into yourself by banging your head on the ceiling by pulling too hard.

absolutely. if the soreness isn't holding you back from wanting to do them there is no reason you need to rest.

first of all you said you just started doing them. second, overtraining is not a simple cause and effect of any single thing. doing a lot of pullups is NOT going to make your muscles shrink.

XTT, you are thinking too much again.

Just eat, sleep, lift, and grow. Take a break when you need one. No more than 3-5 times a week and you'll be fine.

If you do it this way, nothing will shrink, nothing will fall off, and everything will recover.

That's one way to get rid of the soreness.

I suggest you do 20 sets of 5 reps, changing your grip every set. Really blast those lats so that you are so sore you can't lift your arms . . .

. . . and type at the computer keyboard.

We will survive without you!
