Push/Pull Meet

So after having a really stressful bad diet/no sleep week I went to workout this friday.

I got half into my bench workout when John Pena comes in and tells me that he wants me to put on his f6, see how it feels, and bench tomorrow for his team in the Push/Pull meet. Well, I resisted... but lots of peer pressure later I decided to do it.

Did one single in the shirt with 350 and went to weigh in at 6:50 pm (10 minutes before weigh in cutoffs). Weighed 233, put 360 for bench as my opener and 470 for deadlift.

I havn't been able to eat right lately (sick) so I bought some walgreens brand pediasure stuff and chugged that from night to morning (about 15-18 cans total maybe drinking as often as my stomach let me). Carbed up pretty nice...

Started off with bench. Hit 360 fairly easily. Went to 390 and missed twice. I felt really dissapointed... I havn't benched in a shirt in a while, but this was bitch weight for me and didn't make me feel that great.

Next... went to deadlift. Got 470 no problem. 525 was my next attempt. Got that, but it was WAAAAY slower than what I wanted. Seeing that I probably wouldnt be hitting 575 (my original guess at my 3rd attempt), I put 550 on and went for it. Got it up real smooth, faster than the 525.

910 subtotal on an off day, while not training for a meet feels ok. Going to be doing the same contest December 15th and hoping to get 1000+ subtotal.

Won the overall bench + deadlift in teens and bench in teens by bodyweight coefficient somehow. I swear that their math is wrong. No way I won anything by bodyweight coefficcient... but I'm not going to argue.

Good to finally do a meet again. Looking forward to december...Hopefully will be pulling 600 then w/ 405 + bench.

Oh yea, the vitals...

Thanks FMac. I am usually too harsh on myself... my training partners also told me I did well considering the circumstances, but I am always looking for the perfect meet so it's hard to be happy when you don't hit all your attempts... you know this as well as I do though...
