I used a wooden pallet drilled a hole in the middle stud and nailed a piece of styrene to it. If you are dragging on the cement you will need some type of steel sheeting, I drag mine in the grass and it's held up great ,if you can do your drags in the grass it's much harder.

Don't mix gym shoes and social ones ..... I were heavy duty boots with flat bottoms for the gym.

Sled, "The Cheap Teanage Way"
1. Take a regular basket(like the ones found at grocery stores), or if you want to get fancy get some wood and create a similar box.
2. Attach a chain to the basket connecting to some kind of belt device.(or you can construct some kind of vest)
3. Put some plates in and go

Here's the abar sled... take two car tires, connect them with a chain. Attach some kind of rope to the end of the chain. Then, you can stack weight plates in teh center of the tires. Presto... ghetto sled

Wrestling shoes like Jaster said are great or what I used to use were boxing shoes. They have almost no sole and very good high ankle support. Wish I still had them but they were retired! lol
