soooo sore..........

in the hamstrings today from sat. 12/2/06

mostly from some light squatting.

started with some powersnatching
powersnatch from the hang at knees-
45x3
75x3
95x3
115x2

powersnatches
120.5x1
127x1
132x1
137.5x1

snatch grip deadlift pulls (not a high pull, just a shrug going on tippy toes)
185x2
207x1
222x2
used hookgrip, had bloody thumbs after this, snatch grip is hell, (this coming from someone that has no problem holding 500 in a hookgrip.

front squat lockouts using super-yoke (bottom start)
9"ROM (very tough lift!!!)
150x3
240x1
330x1
385x1 PR!
6"ROM 5-10' carry
430x5-10'
455x5-10' PR max effort on the walk

steinborn squats (no rack, tilt bar on the back, forced to sink way deep) it's been a full month (only back squatted once since, 350x1 bottom-up)
216lb (4.5lb increase)
tilted bar on right side x4 squats+1-negative, tilted off left side, 1-min breather, tilted bar on left side x4 squats+1-negative, tilted bar off right side. (2-rep increase)
all squats were sunk way between legs, all paused up to 4-5sec. not even really close to going "all out" however the strecth and sorness in the hams is sick, calves got a great stretch as well!!!

carried 240lb log (big log, 14"dia.) 50'
250lb +2-sets of collars 50'back PR!

(carried that 250 40' on thursday as well)

it's hard to walk today, but absolutly on stress on the knees.
abs are also very, very sore from the front squat bottom lifts.

yeah, sinking low like that really does it also, and I didn't even come close to going all out.

gotta get something out about these odd lifts, I noticed on another board, a board with solid info. mostly, except the drug forum is sad, and it's sadder to read about people messing around trying to become chemists and can barely deadlift 500. Most here love that board also, so you've proballiy seen it.

They were calling these old lifts (steinborn, jefferson ect.) retarded, should be extinct, dangerous, disk rupture.

Well I'll admit these are dangerous lifts, and should only be done by individuals who are SERIOUS, and have a passion.
Whats so comical is fellas who play around with chemicals saying these things, as if chemicals are really safe?

Also these fellas I'm sure think the MMA ring is just "so cool" (I have nothing against MMA, and I think it's badass) but MMA is DANGEROUS, probailly even more so than these lifts, I'll make an educated assumption that my spine, neck, and face is in better health than an MMA fighter?
Not to mention some of these "tough guy" lifts may help an MMA??????
afterall most of these old-timers were grapplers/wrestlers!!!!

That board is full of people so hung-up on looking like a syborg, or comic book hero, the points have been missed. (more chemists than training)

and if your going to do these lifts and say you've cracked your spine, heres alittle advice, they are not to be rushed obviously, this is differant than modern day knucklehead powerlifting, you can't throw weight on and just hope to make the lifts.
It's why the old-timers were STRONG!!!!
