Nice!

I think BW for 20 is there for the taking!

Westside - "breathing squats" are another name for "20 rep squats" where you select a weight that you would normally fail at 10 with and hold it on your back (resting/breathing) until you grind out 20.

well after ten reps mine are 'breathing' squats! I certainly can't do 20-25 nonstop, but I don't rack the bar

Thats perfect then!

So are you going to go for 107 for 20 next time?

monday 4/14/08

217x11 1-min rest (timed) x11 1.5min rest (timed) x11

second set I was ready to go, 3rd set I had to gut it out to get under the bar in 1.5, last 2-reps were max effort.

That's a heart thumper effort Luke. Good job. How would you describe your upper body uprightness during the the latter reps of those squats?

around rep 5-6 of 1st and 3rd sets my back got roundy out of the hole, only as I'm pushing out of the hole.

my 1st set was sluggish, it's hard to get my mind into it, thats why I've always performed better pre-fatigued.

I don't sit perfectly upright on any squats though, maybe overhead squat?

thursday 5/21

steinborn squats, 246x10 (add 5lb) 251x3 (add 5lb) 256x3

did something allittle differant this time, I needed to challenge myself some (with poundage), only rest was adding the plates (taking off lock collars), and that 256 was really rockin!!!

so I tied with 16reps total (what I was aiming for)

and these are butt to heel squats

Though not as intense as squats, I've been doing some high reps on the Hammer Leg Press lately. Fri - 220 x 50, Mon - 220 x 60, Wed - ???

This was after a couple weeks of 410 x 20 and 500 for 5-10.

One thing that surprised me was that it felt like I had a pump in my lower back (in addition to every other square inch of my legs) though I realized it wasn't my erectors but the tops of my glutes that got the work.

I'm going to play around with some timed sets and see how many I can do in 90 seconds or so.

sometimes people lean forward a little, putting pressure on their lower back on the pad. I know I do it.

sets of 50 and 60?? yikes, thats some serious endurance brother!

I have been letting my high rep squats go... I hate it so much but having returned to the thread perhaps it will motivate me to try bodyweight X 20 sometime soon!

Maybe someday soon I will wake up dehydrated and a couple of # lower in weight, that would make it easier lol

I don't know if this counts or not, but it was tough...

Front Squats - 155x10,160x10,165x10,135x16

all with about 90 seconds rest between sets.
