Nice, nice work, Nadia! That's a bodyweight squat (plus 5 pounds?) x 40. Very impressive.

hahaha not for a VERY long time! I guess I was just surprised because it was extreamly hard, I felt so disoriented and then I wasn't THAT sore...i was sore, but I thoughtI would not be able to walk the next day!

Yeah it will be awhile before I do this again!

ouchie. I was only going to do 20, then I got to 20 and said ok 25, then i said 30 then i said 32...lol once I got there I knew I had to push to 40. Never thought I could do that. Thanks for starting this challenge Dan, really got me to push myself on something I would have never done on my own.

I have to ask if anyone else got a bit disorented after this? After I was done I had trouble focusing for about 20 min after. I've only had this happen after a very intense cardio session. I had 1/2 a zone bar in my car ate that then had my protien shake and felt 100% better.
Very, very impressive!

And yes, I'd say being disoriented is "normal".

As for me, I did another 405 for 20 on the leg press the other day, only this time the reps were much slower - approx. 3 seconds up, 3 seconds down.

I've been playing around with some different types of workouts lately. The leg press session was part of an HIT workout were I did leg extensions and curls immediately prior, 1 set to failure, 10 exercises done back to back with very little rest. That was two days ago.

Then today I had a strongman session were I clean & jerked a 242lb 13" log, did a 325lb farmers walk, 800lb yoke walk and flipped a 725lb tire 10 times (I did some more stuff but those were the only PR's). This strength endurance training (and "metabolic conditioning") is really paying off in ways I did not expect.

well, I woke up thursday morning and my traps/neck were way sore still, I had too good a workout on tuesday which btw I moved very fast with absolute strength then one-arm sled drags with no rest, my endurance and strength feel better (must be them high rep squats!!!).

anyway the first thing I thought was "I doubt I'm doing this today" so it's not looking good, to add to that my allegies were killing me from 5am to about 2pm nonstop, however at the end of the day I was feeling real good, but my soreness was still on my mind, so I thought I'd just start and not put too much on myself, after all I usually never do a heavy yoke a week before a comp. and add to that something as brutal as this.

overhead squat up to 155x1, 165.5x1 same as before sitting for 5sec (way easy)

super-yoke 5-10' walk (approx. 8')
350
440
550
640
730

here we go, 784 each step was slow but big, almost like a "lunge" I was in that lunge for 5sec with every step, went right to the squat 202lbs (just took some deep breaths before unracking) x10 every rep was a breathing squat, I was pissed, and just ditched the bar

so 784yoke/10-squats I just could not "go there" today, I "went there" 8-days ago, and I'm "going there" in another 8-days, it's too much for a short period of time.

after paceing for 1-2mins I powercleaned 185 and loaded 202 on the rack then (while still breathing heavy) did 20reps, (15 were breathing squats) after racking it again I thought "I quit again, I could did 5more)

I'm fine with this, I'm documenting this as a punishment, and also a reward, I felt like it was still productive and I'm really looking forward to beating this in several weeks, I'm going for at least 25 after the yoke carry.

my recovery was very fast, and nothing is really sore today, just my legs a TAD. I feel really good!!!

not quite the same thing as one high rep set, but I did do a 10x10 of squats at 205 last wednesday (supersetted with 10x10 good mornings). I'm just now walking normally again.

Yesterday, for my last workout before the contest this weekend, I did a slow 225 x 8 in the front squat immediately followed by a slow 225x10 in the back squat. When I say slow, I'm referring to the rep speed... 2-3 seconds up, 2-3 seconds down. My previous workouts were 1 second up, 1 second down.
