Maverick do you set up with an arch in your back or do you just lay on the bench when you bench press?

I set up an arch. I have to research the proper bench press technique and look that up again. I know I'm doing most of the necessary preparation before the lift, but I also know I'm missing certain pieces.

Nice. I gotta tell ya, between the zeal of you and a few other guys around here, if I'm not pleased with my new BB workout, I could end up pursuing PL more seriously. I figure I'm at ground zero for either one, having a decent strength base and being at a low BF%. Only time will tell.

You can always go into "Power Building" Firehawk and I talked about this for some time. No that I am older and don't have the time for many meets I am more like a Power Builder then a PLer or BBer. It's kinda in the middle of the 2. I look more cut then the reg. PL'er but I'm a litte puffer then the reg. BB'er. It works for me. I look good in it.

Bro I just went to the Senior Nationals meet and 90% of those guys were 15% body fat or LESS! Only a few guys were over 20% bodyfat. So it's a big misconception about powerlifters being fat.
Jaster's right. You can get the best of both worlds.
I think jaster would agree though, it's important to have a good strength base and then later on if you want pure muscle size then go for it, but itll make you a better bodybuilder in the long run to have developed your nervous system as well as your muscle size.

I'd agree here. Due to weight class issues it is hardly beneficial for a powerlifter to be packing too much extra fat as they may be stuck in a class they aren't currently built for.

lastnite,
front squat 265lbs 1-rep
platform deadlift conventional stlye, 430lbs 1-rep, stood on a 100lb plate.
the front squat was tough, the deadlift was slow until the knees then blasted up no problem, I was still strong on the first part of the pull, I could do that pull everyweek or twice a week, so soon (sometime in july) I'll be going for at least 450 (shoot for 455) off the floor, I'm a hare under 190lbs.
