Floor Presses 200 3 sets of 5. Last week i did 2 sets 195 and 1 set at 200. This week all 3 sets. Good PR, thought I'd post it. My bench is moving along nicely.

What is your max bench at now? I heard you mention something about wanting a 265 (?) bench press before doing board work, or something like that. How close are you? Floor presses would be crazy hard for me, thats about my worst sticking point with my bench when I fail.

Then you need to work the hardest at your sticking point bro. One thing that will definitely hellp, if is you develop speed through your lifts. That way you will push the weight right through your weak point.

My max bench should be about 275-280ish now. Probably closer to 275 though. I'm doing the board work to get my body acclimated to heavier weight. We'll see.

This week im going to 260 for sets of 3 off a 2 board. 2 inches does make a world of difference, but I am not weak at all off my chest, it's right about 4 inches off my chest that i get in trouble. I think mainly i just need to get used to heavier weight and ii'll be just fine. I'm anticipating a 315 max bench by sept/october if i stay on this pace. Would love to get to 405 in the next couple years too.

One brick at a time bro...

Sweet man, let us know when you crack 300. You've been progressing like a beast since joining that PL gym. And you were nervous .

Nice. You left me far behind; great progress. I'm around 250 now.

How are those squats going?

Squats are by far my weakest. I'm just going to increase by 20 every other week until I can't anymore, which should last me 2-3 months continuously. I CANT have bad form anymore training at the gym I'm at or i get yelled at.

So, Saturday i'll be doing 225 for sets and then working up from there. I expect to fly up to 315 pretty quick. Squat is by far my least enjoyed exercise. I really have a hard time getting up for it.

Deadlift max tuesday was 435 and i pulled it easy. Tried 445 after that and got it off the ground but coudln't get past my knees. It ok though, the 435 was a 15lb PR in 2 weeks time. I been going up 10 lbs every other week on my Deadlift for the last 2 months.

And I thought I neglected my legs too long

Don't worry about man. If you're like me, squats will become your favorite soon. When you start seriously training them, the strength builds like crazy. I went from having my bench and squat be equal 3 months ago to my squat being 70 pounds higher than my bench now.

and you *always* drive the speed limit?

it's a four hour drive to toronto (yes, it's true: in northern ontario, we measure distance in hours), but i usually make it in three and a half. once i did it in two and a half but that was an emergency.
