three new PR's in one workout!

push-press: (135x2) I have been working on the 45plates for a while now so i'm quite happy!

Clean & jerk: (135lbs singles x8) These were super easy but I wanted to stay light as this was only my second time trying them.

Behind Head Jerk: (165x1) this was my first time trying these with any amount of wieght. I failed my first two attemps but had no problim on my 3rd. I really started realizing that speed and form are both far more important than overall strength with any jerk movment. not that some extra muscle hurts...

Congrats on all those PRs EliteLift.

How did you get the weight down after you completed the behind head jerk? Also, did you grip the bar when dipping for the jerk or did you have your hands open and bar resting on your palms?

Thanks pierini.

with the behind head jerk I lowerd the bar to my collar bones as slow as I was able, (witch apparently wasn't slow enough as I gave my collar a nice little brused hicky) I would have just droped the weight but considering the type of gym, and the steel plates I was using its probably better I didn't. As for how I gripped the bar, i'm pretty certan I was gripping it fairly tightly throughout the whole motion with my grip about an inch from the rings on each side.

clean & jerks are quickly becomming a favorit exercise for me!

edit: the two failed attemps with behind the head jerks I set the weight back on my neck witch after having a shower I realized scraped my neck a fair amount. It probably was not the smartest decision, and I wont be maxing out on these without two partners to help lower the weight more in a more controled fashion..

edit again..: bw is 150lbs, 18yrs old.

nice PR's tim elite lift and ixoyc!

BW: 108lbs

Deadlift: 235x1 (been stuck at 220 and once pulled 230 but weighed 113 at the time, so pulling 235 at 108 was huge for me!)

How is that done exactly, Maverick? Are you starting from the floor with a trap bar sticking up, or what?

So you kind of have to start with a rounded back?
