At this point, they are assuming it was a massive heart attack. It will be about two months before the autopsy is released.

He did his regular work out and then layed on the cold concrete as always. I think it was he wife and his training partner that saw him struggling to breath and they called an ambulance. Between those two and the paramedic, they were giving him mouth-to-mouth for nearly an hour on the way to the hospital. I think he died before he got to the hospital.

I can't remember the story entirely but that is what I remember from it.

Posted by "Sarge" on Jesse's forum:

"Friends, we suffered a great loss in the strongman community last evening. The Sequim Crew was doing what they do. Training hard and particularly training Jesse for the WSM contest in Anaheim. He died quickly and painlessly.

The squat set was as follows:
230kg x 8
190kg x 8
150kg x 8
110kg x 8
70kg x 8
Followed immediately by:
600# tire flip
265# stone load
All of this was done with no rest between sets. Rack, pull, go
At the completion of these sets Jesse laid on his back, on the cold floor like normal. Breck and Sarge noticed that his breathing was laborious. Jesse became incoherent and stopped breathing. We administered cpr, called 911 and continued to resusitate until paramedics arrived. They set up the defibrillator, epinephrin, to no avail. He was worked on for over an hour between Breck, Sarge and the paramedics.

These are the facts as it happened. We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We appreciate your support and prayers.

The Sequim Crew"

Yes, 27 or 28. I also heard he had a 9 month old. That adds even more sadness to his already tragic death.

He had a young son (around 6 or 7) and a 7 week old daughter.

Thats some scary stuff.

Wonder waht autopsy report will show some congenital defect or actions for wanting success too badly?

Very sad news. He was the color analyst (not the play-by-play) at this year's Arnold Strongman Competition. Did an admirable job playing the Bill Kazmeier role from the year before.
