Hey Napalm, I'm not a powerlifter but I do know one thing, if you can't find a "real" powerlifting gym you can simply ask the manager if they are powerlifter friendly. ie do they have a cow if you drop a bar, act like they are going to have a stroke if you deadlift, or jump through their own backside if you get under a bar to squat.
As I already stated, I'm not a powerlifter but there is a gym about 10 miles from my home that caters mostly to girls and old people. I asked these questions before considering joining to have a place to go when it's too cold to lift at home. I liked the answers and handed them my money.
The trainer girl did try to correct me when I was squatting me by telling me that leg extensions were so much better. But the manager came over, brought the mats to drop the bar on when I was going to deadlift next, and told her to leave me alone.
If they have
squat racks and power cages - it's probably a good place to go. Unless the sign over the cage says, "curl cage". Then run far, far away to another place.
