Cliff's really short bio

I'm relatively new to the DF forum, but I've been training for years.
Initially I was studying the workouts of "The Pro's" from the Weider Comics. I kept hurting myself, or would get discouraged and come up with some excuse to make quitting easier.
I finally herniated two discs in my back ~4 years ago with a mild to moderate amount of nerve damage, which finally got me really serious about my fitness level. Weight training was difficult, and I got into grad school and funds became really tight.
I discovered bodyweight training, Charles Atlas's Dynamic Tension and John Peterson's Transformetric system, which really patched me back together and got me stronger than ever. I started running last year, and finished a 1/2 marathon in february.
This year I received P90X for christmas. Started in March. Nice system, and got me to crank my intensity level up another notch. A neat bonus, after years of isometrics, pushups, yoga moves and lots of pushups, my body can handle training with external loads again. (weights)

In the last couple of weeks, I've started training with Crossfit workouts with the other "weirdo" at the gym. I'm loving it. I'm really sore most of the time, but I am enjoying the intensity.

Nice to be here at Discuss Fitness. I know Pierini from another forum, and I look forward to getting to know everybody else.

Have fun,
CLiff

Good intro Cliff and good fitness adaptability on your part over the years. I hear lots of good results with the P90X program. Trainining programs with intensity always seem to produce good results.

As you know, there are several here of the CrossFit fitness denomination so your training efforts, if you choose to share them in the Online Journal forum, will be closely read.

Have a great day!
