Mike says Hi

Hello! My name is Mike and I am of course a newb to this forum. I actually found this forum on another forum which is part of the Social Knowledge community. I am one of Andy R's Admins at guitars101.com and since I need to continue to get back in shape I figured this would be a good place to get information.

Let's see I have been married for 4 years this June (her name is becca), I play guitar, I have been back in the gym after injuries for about 6-7 months, and I am into photography. Well hopefully I can drive some more traffic to a sister site of Andy's!

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Hello Mike and a warm welcome from the DiscussFitness community.

I took a look at guitars101.com once I learned that it is now part of the Social Knowledge community. It looks like a great and busy site so I'm sure you have your hands full staying on top of it as an Administrator.

Glad you have decided to jump up on the fitness saddle. Getting and maintaining superfitness is not a whole lot different that getting good at playing guitar. It takes practice, practice, and more practice, or as I like to think, training, training, and more training, today, tomorrow and each day for the rest of your life. Some days more than others, something is better than nothing.

Why don't you consider starting an Online Journal here like so many of us have done, and chronicle your fitness training. You'll get great feedback from others and lots of encouragement and motivation to train hard and smart. Let me know if there is anything I can do to support your fitness goals.

Again, welcome aboard and have a great day!

Hey Mike!

Welcome to DF! My boyfriend is really into guitars, we have an entire room plus 1/2 our living room full of guitars. I'll have to tell him about that site you mentioned. I know he is on the telecastor forums all the time.

Anyway definitely look into starting workout journal here like pierini suggested, it's a great way to keep yourself on track and you will get a lot of support here.

Thanks gymgirl! Great to be here and I am excited to make some new friends and get some good help to get my body back where it needs to be!!!

I don't have 1/2 a room full but I do have 4 guitars, two rather large and LOUD amps, and an office full of pedals and a computer just for recording music.

Thanks for the welcome to the site!
